He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Philabaum and Patricia Philabaum (Irwin); his daughters, Delila Williams and Patty Philabaum; and his siblings, Betty, Sonny, Jim, Philipp and Teddy.

He is survived by: his close friend Jennifer Wears; his son Patrick J. Philabaum of California; and his brother Tim Philabaum (Laura) of Canton. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
