He was predeceased by: his parents, Orval Phillips and Pauline Phillips; his wife Gloria Phillips (Haddad); his daughter Christine Henline; his stepchildren, Jennie Bryant and Jimmy Naugle; and his siblings, Orval, Donald, Wayne, Timothy, Paul Phillips, Helen Phillips, Ruth Phillips and Judy Hooper.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Phillips, Michael Firl (Lindy) and Ellen Phillips; his stepson-in-law Lee Bryant; and his siblings, Floyd Phillips, Gladys Coburn, Connie McQuin and Mary Phillips. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
