He was predeceased by: his father Goble Elwood; his siblings, Elwood James, Earl James and Jeanette Warren; and his brothers-in-law, Jim Hawk and Jim Warren.

He is survived by: his wife Dorthy Frederick; his daughters, Deborah Mills (Barton) of Dunkirk and Cheryl Jackson (Tim) of San Diego, CA; his sister Joanne Hawk of Findlay; his grandchildren, William Mills (Becky) and Virginia Mills; and his sister-in-law Mildred James. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in Robert's honor may be made to Interim Hospice in Lima or the Hardin County Dog Shelter.
