He was predeceased by: his son Jason T. Purdy; and his brother Paul Purdy. He is survived by: his spouse Brenda L. Mankey; his son Matthew W. Purdy (Brandi) of Dunkirk; his grandsons, Hunter and Holden; and his brothers, Ronald Purdy (Janet) of Findlay, Thomas Purdy (Sharon) of Dola and Robert Purdy (Paula) of Dunkirk.
