He was predeceased by: his daughter Rena Yutzy; his brothers, Bob Maurer (Dorothy), Glenn Maurer and Fritz Maurer (Georgia); and his siblings-in-law, Eileen Maurer and Bobby Hearing.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Dildine; his son Eric Maurer (Kim) of Dover; his grandchildren, Amanda Maurer, Emily Maurer, Jennifer Kieffer (Tommy), Ashley Ackerman (Jeremy) and Derreck Yutzy; his great grandchildren, Mytchell Frazier, Gavin Maurer and Brennan Ackerman; his siblings, Jack Maurer, Tom Maurer, Ida Hearing of Florida and Barb Sellerds (Kenny) of Sherrodsville; and his sister-in-law Thelma Maurer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
