He was predeceased by: his sister Elaine Sluter; his brother-in-law Ernest Sluter; his brother John M. McLurg; his uncle James Johnstone; and his aunt Emily Johnstone.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lou McLurg (Horn); his children, John S. McLurg (Margaret) of Dublin, Charles J. McLurg of Marysville, Phyllis Heskett (Timothy) of Logan and Sharon Ward (Tim) of Broken Arrow; his grandchild Jessica Heskett Fisher (Anthony); his great grandchildren, Emma, Ian, Jacob Fisher, Katie, Abigail, Sophia Heskett and Penelope Caterson; his sister-in-law Mildred Sluter of Kansas City; his niece Elaine Stertman (Edward) of Olive Branch; his friends, Lura Hayes and Bill Hayes; and also James Johnstone.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to God-honoring organizations such as Salvation Army, Gideons International Bible Society, St. John's Lutheran School and Samaritan's Purse.
