He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira L. Smythe and Mary Smythe (Ensley); and his brother Harvey Smythe. He is survived by: his wife Pamela J. Smythe (Rodgers); his children, Jenniffer Lynagh (James) of Aurora, Ohio, Jeff Smythe (Tina) of Dresden and Jeremy Smythe (Heather) of Grove City; his grandchildren, Ethan, Megan Lynagh, Cooper Smythe and Maggie Smythe; and his brother Forrest Smythe (Thelma) of Newark.
