He was predeceased by: his parent Vibert Nelson; and his siblings, Bobbie Bales, Alice Beem and Norma Jean Murrey. He is survived by: his parent Marie Bales Nelson (Darner); his wife Patricia "Patty" Bales (Graves); his daughters, Connie Haught and Vicki Gay (Pat); his granddaughter Amy Marie Haught; and his stepbrother Bill Nelson of Cambridge. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends.
