He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hummel and Frances Hummel (Polk); his former wife Helen; his son Duane Hummel; and his siblings, Miriam Dannemiller and Robert "Bob" Hummel.
He is survived by: his wife Dixie; his stepson Frank Miller (Sally); his daughter-in-law Mandy Hummel; his sisters, Marie "Ricki" Bebesi (Jim) of Marshallville and Francie Casto (Joe) of Marshallville; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Dannemiller of Doylestown, Allen Rittmann (Karen) of Ravenna and Linda Hummel of Doylestown. He is also survived by two step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren.
