He was predeceased by: his parents, David Smitley and Mary Jane Smitley. He is survived by: his siblings, Walter J. Smitley (Kay) of Barnhill, Norma J. Bucher (Jim) of Dover and Joanne L. Pressnell (Gary) of Elyria. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
