He was predeceased by: his parents, George Burkhart and Leona Smith Burkhart; his sister Jean; his brother-in-law Blake Gerber; his brother Raymond; and his sister-in-law Wanda Burkhart.
He is survived by: his wife Margery A. Render; his daughters, Melanie Ann Patterson of New Philadelphia and Debra Ruth Burkhart of Dover; his grandson Kirk Robert Patterson of New Philadelphia; and his sister Barbara Anne Thompson (Harry) of Dover. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
