He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Irene Barr Getchey and Frank Andrew Getchey; his brothers, Lawrence Heid, Forrest Heid and Clarence Ripple; his stepdaughter Kristy Dawn Rothacher; and his grandchildren, Zander C. Robinson and Destiny Lee Stull.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret A. Getchey; his children, Robert A. Getchey of Minnesota, Rebecca A. Randall (Mark) of Kelona, BC., Randy A. Getchey of Florida and Rodney A. Getchey of Ohio; his sisters, Patricia Moss (Jarett) of Sherrodsville and Irene Felgenhauer (Paul) of Sherrodsville; his grandson Austin Albaugh; and his pet Priss.
