He is survived by: his wife Sue Schwab Shepherd; his children, Jessica Cunion (Bill) of Alliance and Nathan Douglas of New Philadelphia; his siblings, Ramizi Shepherd (Cathy) of Copley, Ben Shepherd (Jan) of Lake Mohawk, Kelly Shepherd of Akron, Toby Shepherd (Theresa) of Nebraska, John Shepherd of Akron, Kenra Tyger of Pennsylvania, Bobbi Shemwell (Guy) of Akron, Pam Coleman (Terry) of Akron and Becky Hiner (Joe Garn) of Wadsworth; and his grandchildren, Will, Jes and Genevieve. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
