He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sr. Zifer and Mary Tornabene Zifer; and his siblings, Rosalia Zifer, Connie Reese, Jim and Dick Zifer.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Hawthorne; his children, Joe (Beth) of Dover, Linda Zifer of Dover, Frank Zifer (Lisa) of Stow, John Zifer of Tippecanoe, Patti Zifer of Dover and Tim Zifer (David Wyatt) of Evansville, Indiana; his grandchildren, Mollie, Betsy, Frank, Joe, Mary Beth, Maxi, Rita and Annie; his great grandchildren, Joe, Jackson, Cora and Frances; and his sisters, Mary Jane Newhauser and Rita Hutras. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
