He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry F. Thompson and Ruth Simmons Thompson; his daughter Jody; his sons-in-law, Kurt Cummings and Jim Miceli; his granddaughter Tessa Miceli; and his sisters, Lois DiDonato and Emma Lehigh.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Burkhart; his daughters, Liz Nelson (John) of Dover and Audra Miceli of Dover; his grandchildren, Kristin, Anthony Miceli (Emily), Kassidy Vann (Mark), Jordan Hall (Dustin), Janelle Settlemyre (Travis), Dirk (Jacey), Kyle (Kelly) and Ethan Nelson (Shannon); his sisters, Beth Greer (Bill) and Peggy Vesco; and his sister-in-law Margery Burkhart. He is also survived by his 10 great-grandchildren.
