He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude O. Hanks, Sr. and Esther L. Hanks (Fazenbaker); and his brother-in-law Jack Adams. He is survived by: his wife Carol Hanks (Haney); his children, Brent Hanks (Denise) and Michelle Holt (Christopher); his grandchildren, William Rhodes (McKenzie), Britni Prysi (Eric), Brooke Eichel, Christian Holt, Katarina Holt, Cassidy Holt and Colleen Holt; his great grandchildren, Charlie and Gracie; and his siblings, Ellen Adams and James Hanks (Susan). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Geib Funeral Center (5600 N Wooster Ave, Dover, OH 44622).
