We bid farewell to Carolyn J. VanAlstyne of Dover, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 22, 2025 at the age of 80. Carolyn touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Bongini and Alma Bongini (Simonetti); her husband Larry A. VanAlstyne; her brother Eugene Bongini; and her siblings-in-law, John Burtscher, Bill Shroyer, Elnor VanAlstyne, Walt VanAlstyne, Jean Tyson, Betty Heintz, June Fanti and Sandy Bongini.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lorie VanAlstyne of Dover and Janet Ferrell (Jeff) of Sherrodsville; her grandchildren, Madison and Brody Ferrell; her sister Theresa Burtscher of Dover; and her sister-in-law Joanne VanAlstyne of Dover. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory (803 N Wooster Ave, Dover, OH 44622). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Church (613 N Tuscarawas Ave, Dover, OH 44622). A burial was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Monarch Center (831 Boulevard St, Dover, OH 44622).
