He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hoops and Juanita Hoops (Nickels); and his brothers, Leroy Hoops, Wayne Hoops, Kenneth Hoops and Lester Hoops.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Kay (Meyer); his children, Timothy L. Hoops (Laurie Elling), Peggy Ritz (Steven), Randy Hoops (Kathy) and Jeff Hoops (Lora); his grandchildren, Kristina McCandless (Leland), Elizabeth O'Day (Jake), Jennifer Ritz, Morgan Welch (Greg) and Cody "Scooter" Hoops; his great grandchild Callen; his grandchildren, Oliver, Waylon and Dutton; and his sisters, Mary Lou Striecher (Louie) and Barbara Kruse.
The family suggests memorials to St. John Lutheran Church or Henry County Cancer Care.
