He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Scoyoc and Myrtle Van Scoyoc (Brown); his siblings, Howard Van Scoyoc, Ruth Brentlinger and Jean Stateler; and his grandsons, Matthew Rettig and Jeffrey Van Scoyoc.
He is survived by: his wife Lucille Stateler; his children, John Van Scoyoc (Connie), William "Bill" Van Scoyoc and Charlene Rettig; and his grandchildren, Terry Van Scoyoc (Donna), Stephen Van Scoyoc, Jennifer Whitmore (Chad), Jeremiah Van Scoyoc, Aubrey Rettig and Briana Sherick (Brian). He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
