He was predeceased by: his father Homer Spangler; and his brother-in-law Frank Verbeke, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann; his children, Larry Kent Spangler, Douglas Allan Spangler (Angela) and Robyn LeAnn Helmke (Andrew); his grandchild Kyle Spangler (Courtney); his children, Dustin Spangler (Shelby), Lauren Spangler, Brody Spangler, Drew Helmke, MaKenna Helmke, Aiden Helmke and Colton Helmke; and his sisters, Gloria Verbeke, Iona Rhamy (Ted) of Ashborough, NC and Diana Tipton.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Henry County Ag Improvement Association; Mauer Family Cancer Center or St. Johns Lutheran Church.
