With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nelson L. Vance (Deshler, Ohio), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 6, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Vance and Blanche Vance (Fackler); his spouse Shirley Jean Vance (Ward); his children, Jeanie Curtis and James; his daughter-in-law Nancy Vance; and his siblings, Virginia Meyers, Leona Krumbaugh, Orland, Lewis, Raymond, Herbert and Lloyd.

He is survived by: his children, Tom Vance, Bill Vance, Rick Vance (Cathy), Jeff Vance (Lori), Beverly Diem (Steven) and Diane Vance; his son-in-law Rick Curtis; and his sisters, Lois Rettig, Naomi McKinnis and Phyllis Farber. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Harvest Fellowship Church (288 OH-109, Hamler, OH 43524).

The family suggests memorials to the Harvest Fellowship Church.

“Part of me still feels like he would be sitting in his recliner at the house if I'd stop by to say a prayer with him. I know he is in a better place, where God wants him too. And I know I miss him only a small part of what you, the family are feeling. Know that I'm here for you and prayers being lifted for you all.
