He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfield Clayton and Wilma Josephine "Erma" Hammel (McCoun); and his sons, John Ernest "Johnny" and David Jeffrey "Jeff" Hammel. He is survived by: his children, Barbara Adams (Roger), Susan Robson (Phil) and Greg Hammel (Patricia); his grandchildren, Brian, Heather Ann, Troy Michael, Tony, Don, Misti and Bobbi; and his great grandchildren, Brianne, Heath, Addison, Jordyn, Logan of Kayla, T. J., Kailey, Kyle, Alex, Eric, Laci, Lexi, Jena, Dakota, Chance and Paitra.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Union United Methodist, Salvation Army, and Community Hospice.
