It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Badenhop-Smith of Delta, Ohio, born in Deshler, Ohio, who passed away on April 14, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Meienburg and Louise Meienburg (Yungmann); her former husband Werner "Dewey" Badenhop; her husband Ralph Smith of Delta; her son-in-law Scott Welling; and her sister Doris Kuesel.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Badenhop (Kathleen) and Tara Welling; and her stepsons, Tim Shelley (Ella) and Tom Childress (Lois). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild and 2 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Promedica Hospice, Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo.
