He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank S. Szmania and Eleanor Szmania (Rybarczyk); his brother Eugene; and his sister-in-law Helen Szmania. He is survived by: his wife Barbara J. Szmania (McQuillin); his stepchildren, Chad Tedrow (Kristie), Melanie Gilders (John) and Gina Anglin (Matt); his brother Thomas Szmania; his grandchildren, Sidney Insco (Allan), Jared Gilders and Benjamin Anglin; his great grandchild Levi Insco; and his nieces and nephews, Chris Smith (Greg), Diane Ash (Steve), Nancy Meinert (Jim), Sharon Vidovich (Rick) and Joseph Szmania (Pam). He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew.
