He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Smith and Mary Smith (Hughes); his children, Michele "Shelly" Smith and William "Billy" Smith; and his siblings, Susan Carter, Janet Smith, Tim and Craig Smith.

He is survived by: his daughter Amanda Kyler (Chad); his grandchildren, Kobe, Kaden, Kayla, Kylee, Kailyn Smith, Emma, Beau, Mason and Lane Kyler; and his brothers, Donald and Robert Smith.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Harter and Schier Funeral Home (209 W 3rd St, Delphos, OH 45833). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location.
