He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ellis H. Smith and Ruth Smith (Woodwurth); his wife Kathryn "Kate" Smith (Granger); his children, Med Ellis Smith, Mary Ann Stein of Delphos and Melissa Harruff of Delphos; his siblings, Helen Osman, Betty Snapp, Wanda Glasser, Roger Smith and Robert Smith; and his stepsiblings, Dorothy Frank, Jean Hoagland, Homer Miller, Walter Schultz and Paul Schultz. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
