She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Agnes Demark and William Van Demark; her children, Jane Clevenger of Delphos, Timothy Freund (Joyce) of Columbus, Elaine Twigg (Fred) of Rockford, Christine Fischer (Rob) of Malvern and Amy Miller (Larry) of Delphos; her siblings, Betty Imber (Dean) of Columbus and James Van Demark of Mesa, Arizona; her husband Elmer "Bud" Freund; and her son-in-law Bruce Clevenger. She was also cherished by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Margene donated her body to the Ohio State University body donation program.
