Shafer and Anna Kathrine "Katie" Shafer (Johnson); his spouse Barbara Thompson; his children, Christopher Kettler (Amy) of Columbus, Michelle Norton (Matt) of Cleveland, Kathryn Tussing (David) of Columbus Grove and Leslie Hagan (Jerry) of Columbus; and his siblings, John Shafer (Candie) of Delphos and Joan Baker. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
