He was predeceased by: his parents, Elba Adkins and Laurabelle Adkins (Findley); his wife Sherry Elliott; and his sons, Larry Adkins, Jack Adkins Jr. and Charles Ray Adkins.

He is survived by: his daughters, Joyce Nestor and Deb Ackerman (Ken) of Montrose, MI; his daughter-in-law Susan Adkins of Norwalk, OH; his grandchildren, Josh Adkins of Norwalk, OH, Katie Moreland (Mark) of Pioneer, OH, Kenny Ackerman of New Lothrop, MI, Breanna Adkins of Portsmouth, OH and Kevin Ackerman (Gina) of Birch Run, MI; and his sister Louise Schuart of Dunnellon, FL. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
