He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Applegate and Geneive Applegate (Guthrie); his wife Audrey Joyce Stouffer; and his brothers, Charles, Donald and Edwin Applegate.
He is survived by: his children, Bruce Applegate (Beverly), Brian Applegate and Lisa Brunner; his grandchildren, Nicholas Aaron Applegate and Abby McLeod (Ian); and his great grandchildren, Callum and Troy.
