He was predeceased by: his former wives, Melva Hunter (Doxtater) and Louella Hunter (Binkhorst); and his brothers, Donald Hunter and Dick Hunter. He is survived by: his wife Melva Joyce Doxtater; his former wife Louella Binkhorst; his children, James Hunter (Julia Lanier) of Delaware, Emily Savors (Rick) of Worthington, Sarah Giffen-Hunter (Joseph) of Minneapolis and Andrew Hunter (Alison) of Minneapolis; his grandchildren, Charsey Porse (Erik), Rebecca Karabatak (Zac), Lake Giffen-Hunter, Griffin Hunter, Eleanor Savors and Wilson Hunter; his sister Jane Hodgson (Daniel); and also Alan Zeid.
