He is survived by: his children, Staci Benoy (Eric) of Greensboro, NC, Brent Hesselschwardt (Michelle) of Defiance and Trent Hesselschwardt of Defiance; his wife Phylis Hesselschwardt (Figgins) of Defiance; and his siblings, Jerry Hesselschwardt (Cindy) of Ney, OH, Sharron Peters (Dan) of Stryker, Bonnie Zeedyk of Sherwood and Mary Gustwiller of Defiance.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the Defiance HS Athletic Program or Elara Caring Hospice.
