He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Joseph Gerdeman, Sr. and Marcella Gerdeman (Kroeger); his siblings, John Gerdeman, Joan Schumacher, Ethel Niese and Romaine Schroeder; his siblings-in-law, Raymond Schumacher, Donald Niese, Rudy Schroeder, Calvin Teegardin and Marilyn Macke; his grandson Christopher Kit Gerdeman; and his grandson-in-law Duncan Lowne.
He is survived by: his wife Constance (Macke); his children, Diana Bauer (Paul), David (Denise), John, Michael (Kelly), Dennis (Dianne), Christopher and Angela Gerdeman (Peter); his grandchildren, Matthew, Kristin, Megan, Lindsay, Otto III, Benjamin, Sara, Michael, Jesslynn, Steven, Krysta, Kayla, Simon and Ava; his siblings, Merlin (Arlene), Yvonne Krysztofiak, Cheryl Kohler and Marsha Gerdeman; and his siblings-in-law, Jerome Macke and Louise Teegardin. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, the family is requiring all who visit the funeral home and come to the services to wear masks.
The family suggests memorials in memory of Otto be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society c/o St. Mary Church, or to Relay for Life of Defiance County.
