He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Gilligan and Vera Gilligan (Rhody); his daughter Catherine Gilligan; and his siblings, Linda Compton, Robert and William Kurtz.
He is survived by: his wife Mary C. Gilligan (Boff) of Defiance; his daughters, Theresa Blankenship (Gary Sr.) of Defiance, Nancy Gilligan of Defiance, Susan Gilligan of Defiance and Katelynn Gilligan of Defiance; his grandchildren, Amanda Blankenship and Gary Blankenship Jr.; and his sisters, Patsy Gilligan of Defiance and June Elliott of Edgerton, OH.. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
