Marlene Rose Shafer Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marlene Rose Shafer of Defiance, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 25, 2025 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Marlene Rose Shafer to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her father Rudolph; her brother Jerry; her siblings-in-law, Grace Egler, Laverne Ellerbrock, Gilbert Heitmeyer and Ronald Shafer; her sister Janet; and her brother-in-law Richard Greenham.
She is survived by: her husband Terry Shafer; her daughters, Deb Randall of Defiance and Teri Nicely (Tom) of Defiance; her sisters, Lou Ann Ellerbrock of Glandorf and Alice Heitmeyer of Ottawa; her sister-in-law Patsy Shafer; her brother Gary; her sister-in-law Joyce Shafer; her grandchildren, Ryan Randall (Sarah), Scott Randall (Traci), Rob Randall (Erin), Eric Nicely (Nicole), Stacy Freshour (Larry), Kristen Hageman (Jarred) and Kyle Nicely (Kennedy); and her great grandchildren, Robert, Lyla, Lizzi, Luke, Annabelle, Milo Randall, Avery Antoine, Braylen, Bryce Nicely, Parker, Beckett Hancock, Landon, Lexi Freshour, Jenna and Ava Hageman. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lawson-Roessner Chapel (1753 S Clinton St, Defiance, OH 43512). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (715 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512).
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church, Putnam County Hospice, Alzheimer's Association, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
