It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Jean Simonis of Defiance, Ohio, who passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Beaubien and Clara Beaubien (Sieren); her spouse Francis "Frank" Simonis; her siblings, Robert, Joseph Beaubien, Cecelia Fox Emerson and Sister Mary Beaubien; and her sons, Stephen Simonis and Peter Anthony Simonis.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph Simonis of Defiance, Annette Schroeder (Erwin) of Defiance, Patricia Vandemark (Mike) of Defiance, Jerome Simonis of Defiance, Gregory Simonis of Defiance and Mark Simonis (Amy) of Defiance; and her daughter-in-law Deb Simonis. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 26 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schaffer Funeral Home (529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512). A vigil service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
