It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Larry G. Rankin Sr. of Defiance, Ohio, who passed away on November 22, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Rankin and Ethel Rankin (Felzer); his stepfather Paul Warnke; and his siblings, Jim Rankin and Paula Cooper.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Rankin of Defiance; his children, Larry Rankin, Jr. (Sue) of Defiance, Tony Rankin (Rosa) of Las Vegas, NV, Dave Rankin (Sally) of Houston, TX, Mary Rankin of Defiance and Kim Brown (Chris) of Holgate, OH.; and his sister Judy Meyer of Oakwood. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Schaffer Funeral Home (529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mary Catholic Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
