James F. Helmke Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James F. Helmke of Defiance, Ohio, who passed away on September 18, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Helmke and Anna Helmke (Leaders); his son Timothy; and his brother-in-law Bert Weddelman. He is survived by: his son-in-law Mark; his wife Norma Jean Degler; his children, Todd Helmke and Lori Wilkerson (Mark); his grandchildren, Cody Helmke (Nicole), Austin Helmke, Everett Wilkerson (Mackenzie) and Kacey Wilkerson; and his siblings, Bette Weddelman, Don Helmke (Janice) and Marv Helmke (Vickie). He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
