With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Hartsell G. Dodrill of Defiance, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 4, 2025 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Hartsell G. Dodrill to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Hughes Dodrill and Ocie Lulu McGraw Dodrill; and his brothers, Earl Dodrill and Donald Dodrill. He is survived by: his wife Dare Dodrill; and his children, Brenda Robbins, Brad Dodrill, Brent Dodrill, Bretta Hagerty and Brenna Hugus. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ (7197 Co Rd 46, Mt Gilead, OH 43338). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Rivercliff Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Hartsell's memory by spending time with your loved ones, as he so often did. You can also honor Hartsell by donating to the Mt. Gilead Athletic Boosters, c/o Mt. Gilead High School, 338 Park Ave., Mount Gilead, OH 43338, Attn: Athletic Boosters or the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ (address above.).
