Essie Schindler Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Essie Schindler of Defiance, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 13, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the quiet moments of reflection, amidst the gentle rustle of leaves and the whispered song of the stars, we shall carry Essie's memory with us, a guiding light illuminating the path ahead. May Essie's journey be filled with peace and serenity, as her find rest in the embrace of eternity.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Powell and Virginia Powell (Duff); her husband John Schindler; and her daughter Laura Kestner. She is survived by: her children, Tom Lewis (Jean) of Defiance, Kelly Schindler-Watts (Leon) of Tampa, FL and Karen Tobias (Ron) of Defiance; and her sisters, Helen Bevins (Chuck) of Avon, OH and Shirley Prieto of Arizona. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Lawson-Roessner Chapel (1753 S Clinton St, Defiance, OH 43512). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
