He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Garbers and Emma Garbers (Gineman); his wife Marvelle Vocke; his daughter Anne Apicella; and his brother William Garbers (Priscilla).

He is survived by: his children, Amy Cheesebrew (Scott) and Carin Hansen (Marcus); and his grandchildren, Matthew Cheesebrew, Ethan Apicella and Anna Hansen.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
