He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rakes and Perlina Rakes (Lambert). He is survived by: his wife Linda Kent; his children, Charles Davis (Susan) and Angela Davis; his grandchildren, Brianna Gray (Logan), Madeline Carnahan Ashley (Sunny), Serena Mobley (Eric) and Davis Mobley; his great grandchild Everis Gray; and his brother Ernie Rakes (Trudy).
