He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Ehlers and Meta Ehlers (Seedorf); his brother Eldor "Dewey" Ehlers (DeNelda); and his brother-in-law Harold Wachtman. He is survived by: his wife Leona Elling; his children, Randy Ehlers (Deb) of Defiance, Crystal Wright (David) of Lewis Center and Dan Ehlers (Dodie) of Deshler; his grandsons, Sean Wright (Alex), Adam Wright (Adie), Josh Ehlers and Andrew Ehlers; his stepgrandchildren, Kevin Wright (Sonja) and Chris Hattendorf (Kurt); and his siblings, Emma Wachtman of Napoleon, Norma Beck (Dick) of Ridgeville Corners, Harold "Bud" Ehlers (Connie) of McClure and Fred "Toot" Ehlers (Doris) of McClure. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren.
