He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Beair and Dessie Barker Phillips; and his siblings, Gary Phillips, Jack Philips, Hazel Haskins, Bernice Gillispie and Freda Phillips.

He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Beair; his son Ray Beair (Cathy Stamper); his grandson Jason Beair of Pedro; and his aunt Lou Barker of Olive Hill.
