He was predeceased by: his wife Rosezala Mays; his parents, Harlan Mays and Drucilla Mays; his siblings, James "Jim" Mays, Robert "Bob" Mays, Charles "Charlie" Mays, Butch Mays, Marlene Hank and Lois Smith; his stepson Toney Dalton; and his grandson Jamey Firch.
He is survived by: his sister Byrle Rankin; his nephew Darrin (April); his stepson Terry Dalton (Pam); his grandchildren, Casey Brewer (Rocky), Robert Firch (Yonnie), Shawn Firch (Veronica), Carina Sorrell (Aaron), Erica Loveridge (Jody), Melissa Armstrong (Glenn), Monica Wiley (Mike) and Luke Dalton (Jamie); and his great grandchildren, Jason Firch, Kaitlyn Nicholson (Brad), Ryan Wells, Victoria, Trent William Kessler (Sierra) and Kaiden Firch. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Dayton National Cemetery (4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428).
