He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera Eckelberry (Devore) and Everett Eckelberry; his son William James Eckelberry; his brother James Richard Eckelberry; and his siblings-in-law, Marjorie Eckelberry (Reitler) and Ronald Cochran.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley (Diss); his children, Christie Coughlin (Michael) of State College, Karen Bartel (Raymond) of Pembroke, John Eckelberry (Heather) of Kettering and David Eckelberry (Inga) of Greystones, Ireland.; his grandchildren, Katherine Faulds (Matthew), Brenna Eckelberry, Cole Eckelberry (Mia), Johanna Coughlin, Tricia Simpson (Matthew), William Coughlin, Samantha Bartel, Keelin Martin, Neil Eckelberry, Christopher Eckelberry and Victoria Eckelberry; his great grandchildren, Everett, Eloise, George Faulds and Elias Simpson; and his siblings, Janet Cochran, Robert Eckelberry (Terry) and Carl Randall Eckelberry (Barbara).
