He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Y. Herring; his son Monroe "Sonny" Cornelius Thomas Jr. (Trena); his siblings, Cardell Shakir of California, Wanda J. Grace (Wardell) of California and Beverly Brown of Kansas; and his grandchildren, Constance Dee Thomas, Christopher Polly Jr. of Dayton, OH and Christian Polly of Dayton, OH. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
