He was predeceased by: his parents, Rader Gross and Margaret Gross; and his siblings, Adeline Landrum, Virginia Turner, Mary Lois Boggs, William Henry Gross, Earl Gross, John Arthur Gross and Russell Gross.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Gross; his son Harold Edward; his daughter-in-law Diane Gross; his daughter Kimberly; his son-in-law Rex Easley; his grandchildren, Megan Milburn and Eric Easley; his great grandchild Frederick Milburn; his sister Eleanor Weiffenbach; and his siblings-in-law, Edwin and Judy Bush. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Miller Farm and the Kindred Hospice team (especially January) for their kind and excellent care of Gene, a task made more difficult by the pandemic.
