He was predeceased by: his father Jimmy Lawson; his former wife Patsy Lawson; and his siblings, Leroy Lawson, Leon Lawson, Perry Lawson, Robert Herron, Thomas Herron, Ellen Benchic and Mary Hornick.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Lawson (Brown); his sons, Mikel and William Lawson; his stepchildren, Joshua Brown (Joanne), Jesse Neely (Amber) and Barbara Oatneal (Andre); his grandchildren, Kodi Lawson, Kasey Lawson, Kris Lawson, Natalie Brown, Nylah Brown, Nathan Brown, Tristyn Neely and Treyton Neely; his great grandchildren, Kaden Lawson and Autumn Lawson; and his brother-in-law Frank Hornick. He is also survived by many friends including his special dog.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Zerkle Funeral Home (11900 N Dixie Dr, Tipp City, OH 45371). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens (11890 N Dixie Dr, Tipp City, OH 45371).
