She was predeceased by: her parents, Deacon McKinley and Bertha Melson; her husband Sam Cooper; her son DeWayne Cooper; and her siblings, Freddie, James, Marvin Melson and Willaleana Melson.
She is survived by: her children, Samuel, Marcus, Jonathan Cooper, Shari and Glenda; her brother Thurston Melson (Shirley); and her pet Tiny. She is also survived by many grandchildren who loved her dearly, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends.
